Rochester New York artist John Hendry has been designing and creating one of a kind art from his studio since the early 1980's. Everything John puts into form is his own and never outsourced or duplicated.
He has public works that grace schools and memorial gardens as well as many homes who have embraced this style. This style in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle has been described as "eclectic with a bit of whimsey". John loves to create work that flows naturally such as the steel ribbons that encompass much of his work. His wine racks are an example of his practical art that can be used as well as viewed. This style is present in much of his work which combines sculpture with a purpose.
John's creations are rarely painted yet the natural hues of heated and welded steel with hints of blues, grays, and blacks, are preserved with acrylic clear coats which adds depth that is beyond 1 dimensional. John also etches steels to different shades of rust and blackens as well. His copper plating is popular and covers a wide spectrum of color.
